NBC filled a long dormant top spot in its entertainment division Wednesday when it announced that Jennifer Salke would join the network as president of entertainment.
The appointment, which had been long expected because of Ms. Salke’s close friendship with the chairman of entertainment at NBC, Robert Greenblatt, was presaged in reports on the Web site Deadline Hollywood.
In making the appointment, Mr. Greenblatt cited Ms. Salke’s most recent tenure as a top development executive for the 20th Century Fox television studio, where she worked on such hits as “Bones,” “Glee” and “Modern Family.” Mr. Greenblatt first worked with Ms. Salke during her days at the Aaron Spelling production company.
The Fox studio supplied two forthcoming shows to Mr. Greenblatt’s first prime-time lineup for NBC, “The Playboy Club” and “Amake.”
