How Are Your AT&T HSPA+ Speeds? (Poll)

You are in a Smartphone News Post

AT&T is unique in their 4G strategy because they've rolled out HSPA+ on most of their recent smartphones as a stop gap between 3G and their upcoming deployment of much-faster LTE. This will be especially beneficial for those that buy LTE phones, because the fall back speed will be faster HSPA+, and not HSDPA. But as many have pointed out, most 4G phones on AT&T's network (like the Atrix 4G and Thrill 4G) don't actually provide faster-than-3G speeds, despite AT&T claiming that 6mbps download speeds should be possible in most places. In our tests in multiple big US cities, AT&T HSPA+ phones max out at 1-2mbps down, which is a far cry from the advertised 6mbps. The fastest download speeds we ever achieved on an AT&T 4G phone was in Washington, D.C., where we clocked around 4.4mbps down on an HTC Inspire 4G.

How about you? Have your HSPA+ speeds improved on AT&T? Do us a favor and run a speed test (we like the SpeedTest.net app) and tell us what speeds you're clocking on your device! Previous Page Next Page
