LG's LU6200 Outed As 1.5GHz Dual-Core LTE Beast?

You are in an Android Post

Have you been looking for LG to come up with some really top-tier hardware? Sure, we've heard of some impressive devices that will soon be coming our way, but what about devices with A-list specs across the board? Assuming the details play out, a newly-rumored LG Android may be just the phone you've been hoping for.

The LU6200 starts off with the solid foundation of a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon. The phone's display is supposed to be a 4.5-incher with an HD 720p resolution (resulting in 329ppi density), manufactured using LG's new Advanced High Performance In-Plane Switching technology, offering superior battery life to alternatives like Super AMOLED Plus. Add on an eight-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front-facer, and a gigabyte of RAM, and you've got one powerful phone starting to come together.

For now, it looks like the LU6200 will be staying in Korea, for operation on the LTE airwaves there, but LG would be wise to bring, if not this exact phone, something else with this kind of hardware to a wider market.

T-Mobile Galaxy S II Getting 1.5GHz Dual-Core Qualcomm Chip?

You are in an Android Post

While Sprint and AT&T will have Samsung Galaxy S II phones with their original Samsung Exynos processors, we've learned that T-Mobile's version of the phone would have its dual-core chip come from another source. What we haven't known is just where that chip would come from. We had known about Tegra 2-based GS2s for what seems like ages now, but could a third manufacturer be involved? It looks now that one sure will, with Samsung tweeting that Qualcomm will be stepping up to the task.

The Qualcomm chip that will be at the heart of T-Mobile's Galaxy S II is the APQ8060, the same dual-core chip behind HP's TouchPad (and one specifically guessed-at to fill this role), but clocked up to 1.5GHz. Like the announced LTE version of the GS2, this model will run at a higher clock frequency than the 1.2GHz GS2s the other US carriers will have.

A more official confirmation of this hardware would be nice, but this information is very specific, and it doesn't appear (yet) that the company's Twitter mouthpiece is confusing the phone with another model.

Anyone a little more excited about T-Mobile's GS2 upon hearing this news?

Sony Ericsson Nozomi to Bring 1.5GHz Dual Core, 720p Screen?

You are in an Android Post

Sony Ericsson is rumored to be releasing a high-end Android, called Nozomi, in March of next year that will bring a dual 1.5GHz dual core CPU (probably of the Snapdragon variety) with a 4.3" 1280x720 720p display (that's 342ppi), 1GB of RAM, 32GB of ROM, and, oddly, a micro-SIM tray and no expandable microSD storage. It'll also pack NFC and a 1750mAh battery. Sony Ericsson's latest high end, the Xperia Arc S, packs a faster single-core CPU. The Nozomi would be their first shipping dual-core offering.
