HTC Runnymede Retail Branding Revealed?

You are in an Android Post

The HTC Runnymede will launch as the HTC Sensation XL, according to a reliable source, and not the HTC Bass, as previously rumored. It will allegedly come in two Beats Audio-themed bundles: one with iBeats earbuds and another, special, edition containing over-the-ear Beats Solo headphones.

The supposed branding here is somewhat interesting because, unlike the Sensation XE, Runnymede's specs differ significantly from the original Sensation's: its rumored single-core, 1.5GHz processor and 4.7-inch screen make it sound more akin to the HTC Titan Windows Phone than the dual-core, 4.3-inch Sensation and Sensation XE.

We'd expect Sensation XL/Runnymede to launch at HTC's October 7th event, alongside Explorer/Pico and perhaps even Vigor and Ruby.

HTC Runnymede Shows Off Piano White and Beats Audio on Video

You are in an Android Post

The Runnymede is expected to have a 1.5GHz single-core processor, 4.7-inch WVGA display, 768MB of RAM, 16GB of storage, eight-megapixel main camera, and 1.3-megapixel webcam. Will probably run Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread with HTC Sense 3.5 on top of it and it is rumored to be launched as the HTC Bass.

Check out the video below to see how the device looks! So far, the piano shining white caught our attention on the front of the phone and we have to admit it appeals more than the matte one on the HTC ChaCha or Radar. Of course, as you'd expect from a Beats-phone, it sports the Beats Audio logo on the back, pretty much like the Sensation XE. Let us know if you like what you see!

HTC Runnymede To Be Launched As HTC Bass?

You are in an Android Post

Looks like HTC is going to launch the Runnymede as the HTC Bass, at least according to retailer Handtec that has a product page for the phone. We've seen the HTC Sensation XE being launched recently and, given the Beats orientation of the Runnymede, "Bass" would make more sense than Runnymede.

We've seen official press renders of the phone, which is white-colored like the HTC Radar, and we've mentioned the specs rumored. It will reportedly ship with a 1.5GHz single-core processor, 4.7-inch WVGA display, 768MB of RAM, 16GB of storage, eight-megapixel main camera, 1.3-megapixel webcam, and it will run Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread with HTC Sense 3.5 on top of it (like the HTC Rhyme).

We're guessing it will also ship with some Beats by Dr. Dre in-ear buds or phones, just like the Sensation XE, and we hope special audio decoding and playback software is included to offer the full Beats experience.

P.S.: Anyone else noted the relatively large lens on the back camera? Can we hope for an improved camera coming with the Bass?

HTC Runnymede: First Press Shot

You are in an Android Post

We recently got a quick peek at the upcoming HTC Runnymede thanks to AndroidGuys, and now we've gotten a full press shot of the 4.7-inch Gingerbread handset. Very much an Android-powered companion piece to the just-announced HTC Titan Windows Phone, the all-white Runnymede will reportedly feature a single-core 1.5GHz processor, 768MB RAM and 16GB/32GB ROM, plus WVGA resolution. Sound quality and image capture are said to be top-notch, with the Beats Audio-infused device supposedly offering up a class-leading camera that may even best the highly-anticipated iPhone 5's.

Pricing has been tipped at 530 pounds ($838) unlocked for the 16GB model and 560 pounds ($885) for the 32GB version -- which sounds right in line for a high-end HTC product -- although launch plans are still unknown. We could possibly learn more at the September 20th HTC event in New York City, although we suspect that may focus on US-specific devices such as Bliss and Vigor on Verizon.
