Windows Phone Mango Apparently Official And Live In Taiwan

You are in a Windows Phone Post

We are still expecting to hear something official from Microsoft to confirm those September 15 Mango announcement and launch rumors and, while we wait, it appears that the platform refresh went live in Taiwan.

It wasn't supposed to happen until tomorrow, as previous rumors indicate, but it looks like it is now official (and we need to consider the current time in the zone, which is evening already). Those having an HTC Mozart or HD7 will need to head down to an HTC store to have their operating system updated. This, most probably, because Zune is not working in the region.

Microsoft To Launch Windows Phone Mango In Taiwan On 09/16

You are in a Windows Phone Post

For the past couple of days we've been hearing rumors and reports about Microsoft announcing Windows Phone's next update, codenamed Mango, on September 15. OEMs and carriers definitely have a higher-than-normal level of Windows Phone activity so there might be some fire here as we can all see the smoke.

The latest bit on the Mango launch comes from Microsoft TechDays Taiwan 2011 where the audience has been told that the Redmond platform refresh will see the light of day on September 16. Not sure how wave-one devices will get the updates though, or if the updates will be actually ready for that September 16 date, but the buzz is really there. We expect official wording from Microsoft either later today or tomorrow if there's any truth to the rumors.
