Vodafone Australia Finished Testing Mango, Waits For Microsoft

You are in a Windows Phone Post

Microsoft and the carrier partners made three Windows Phone updates up until now: the pre-NoDo, NoDo and the 7392 security update. Unfortunately not everything went as smooth as imagined and we hope both Redmond and the operators have learned from the past experience.

Delivering updates in a timely manner is key to maintaining customers happy. Vodafone Australia seems to have understood how the game is played as the carrier announced it already finished testing the Mango update for the HTC Trophy it carries. "Testing for Windows Phone ?Mango? firmware update has been completed and approved. Awaiting deployment from Microsoft" -- is what the official blog states.

With an official Mango announcement coming soon from Microsoft (as soon as tomorrow, according to some reports), wave-one Windows Phones will (should) start receiving updates as soon as possible. We hope other carriers in Europe and America have been working hard and are just waiting for a green light to push out Mango to Windows Phones in their line-up.

Samsung Galaxy Y Coming Soon To Vodafone U.K.

You are in an Android Post

Vodafone U.K. has listed the Samsung Galaxy Y in its line-up with a "coming soon" tag. Y stands for "young-minded" in Samsung's new smartphone naming convention and the "Y"-phones are entry-level devices, which have a huge advantage offered by their low price tags.

The Galaxy Y, which was launched together with the Galaxy W, M Pro and Y Pro, runs Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread and is powered by an 832MHz processor, has a three-inch QVGA screen, two-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, and a 1200mAh battery. Given the modest specs, expect the phone to be free at the carrier though this hasn't been confirmed, nor the release date.

Samsung Galaxy S II White Available From Vodafone U.K.

You are in an Android Post

If you feel it's time to be a little different than all of your friends rocking a Samsung Galaxy S II, it's time to get a white version of the phone, given of course you can cope with the lighter color. It's now available from Vodafone in the U.K.

There are really no differences between the white and black flavored smartphones in terms of specs except for the paint used by the manufacturer on the outside part of the case. You can get it for free from Vodafone U.K. given you sign a contract starting from monthly ?36. You get the same 1.2GHz dual core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, and eight-megapixel camera. Now, if only this was the Galaxy S II LTE...
