Target Mobile HTC Rhyme Presale On 09/21, VZW Sign-Up Page Live

You are in an Android Post

According to the image above, Target Mobile (Radio Shack) is going to have the HTC Rhyme/Bliss ready for a September 21 pre-sale, followed by a September 22 release. Apparently, the version offered will have a plum shade, pretty much like the initial renders we've already seen.

There's more to the Rhyme than the phone; apparently it will come with a "charm" which will glow whenever you need to be notified of incoming, missed calls, or text messages. It plugs in the 3.5mm headphone jack but there might be some other surprises in the box too (maybe a dock or a Beats by Dr. Dre pair of headphones?).

Spec-wise, the HTC Rhyme will pack a 3.7-inch WVGA screen, a single-core 1GHz processor, 768MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, five-megapixel camera with 720p video recording capability, VGA front-facer, and will be powered by a 1,600mAh battery. The platform is Android 2.3 Gingerbread with HTC's own Sense 3.5 on top of it.

On the official Verizon channel, the sign-up page for the phone is live over at the carrier. If you want to be notified of new about the device (such as launch, release, availability, etc,), head over to the source link and sign up.

Verizon Leak Prices Breakout, Confirms Stratosphere, Rhyme

You are in an Android Post

Pantech's Breakout has been looking like a decently-equipped Android that could let Verizon subscribers check out LTE without paying the premium price most Verizon LTE smartphones demand. Well, that's what we had been assuming, at least, since we hadn't gotten any real indication of what the carrier had in mind so far as a launch price. Now that info's leaked out, and it's well within the "affordable" range.

According to the docs, a full-price Pantech Breakout will only set you back around $360. Sign on for two years of service, and you'll walk out the door with one for just $150; that's not unreasonable for a 1GHz Android like the Breakout even without considering its LTE connectivity.

As for the HTC Rhyme and the Samsung Stratosphere, this leak confirms their presence in Verizon's database, but doesn't really give us any new information on the pair. The Rhyme is a 1GHz Android we used to know as the Bliss (the phone designed for women), and will arrive with HTC's latest Sense 3.5. Samsung's Stratosphere is another LTE handset like the Breakout, but a QWERTY slider this time; sadly, most of its specs are still unknown to us. Look for all three smartphones to show up at Verizon in the near future.

HTC Rhyme Gets Its DLNA Certification

You are in an Android Post

A Verizon Minimum Advertised Price list (MAP) from last week made reference to a phone called HTC Rhyme which we couldn't really tell at the beginning what it was. Now, the phone is back in the center of attention as it gets its DLNA certification.

While taking a look at the model number ADR6330VW, we considered that the HTC Rhyme might be a relative of the Droid Incredible 2. Not sure how close of a relative though, but judging by the model number they should nonetheless be related. Blog of Mobile considers that the model number ADR6330VW is indeed the HTC Bliss, the HTC phone for women, and that the phone will be launched as HTC Rhyme. That aside, the phone has received its DLNA certification which unfortunately sheds no light on the identity of the phone.
