Microsoft Talks Windows Phone Application Certification

You are in a Windows Phone Post

The applications that are part of the Windows Phone Marketplace go through an extensive certification process before they're allowed on the application store. Microsoft is discussing matters related to app certification and the process itself.

Applications need to obey certain requirements which are clearly laid out for the app developers. Based on those, software is either certified and good to go or rejected. In the video below, Microsoft's Steve Bell talks about the certifications process needed to guarantee a proper user experience as well as some of the most important reasons behind rejecting a software bit. Check it out below:

HTC Rezound Android Phone Gets DLNA Certification

You are in an Android Post

We've recently heard of the HTC Rhyme getting its DLNA certification and it might as well be the female-targeted HTC Bliss. What we didn't seem to hear about is a certain HTC Rezound which also just recently got its DLNA certification.

Aside from the fact that the DLNA website lists it as an Android phone, we don't know anything about the device. It might as well be an upcoming handset from the Beats line-up, judging by the name but HTC phone codenames might very well have nothing to do with actual features or functionality. We'll just leave it at that, for now, and we'll follow up as soon as we get our hands on some new bits.

LG E906 Jil Sander Optimus 7 Refresh Gets GCF Certification

You are in a Windows Phone Post

The GCF (Global Certification Forum) certification is usually the last one a phone receives before going live and the LG E906 just got it recently. The phone, revealed as Jil Sander Design House-branded Windows Phone Mango, is a follow-up to the last year's LG Optimus 7.

The phone supports GSM 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz, W-CDMA 2100(I)/1900(II)/900(V) MHz frequencies and, as with the case of other Windows Phones, will feature a WVGA screen. The other specs (as in processor, memory, display size and camera) are yet unknown but given the current trend we could expect an eight-megapixel shooter, 512MB of RAM, 3.8-inch screen (like on the Optimus 7) and a single-core processor which could very well be 1GHz or above.

HTC Rhyme Gets Its DLNA Certification

You are in an Android Post

A Verizon Minimum Advertised Price list (MAP) from last week made reference to a phone called HTC Rhyme which we couldn't really tell at the beginning what it was. Now, the phone is back in the center of attention as it gets its DLNA certification.

While taking a look at the model number ADR6330VW, we considered that the HTC Rhyme might be a relative of the Droid Incredible 2. Not sure how close of a relative though, but judging by the model number they should nonetheless be related. Blog of Mobile considers that the model number ADR6330VW is indeed the HTC Bliss, the HTC phone for women, and that the phone will be launched as HTC Rhyme. That aside, the phone has received its DLNA certification which unfortunately sheds no light on the identity of the phone.
