The Weather Channel is one of the more popular Weather apps for Windows Phone, but they weren't the first to offer Mango support. Today, the app has finally seen an update which brings some great improvements to Windows Phone 7.5 Mango users. First off, you get fast app switching support so that the app doesn't have to reload everything every time you switch to it using the task switching. General navigation of the app seems a bit smoother, but it still takes some time downloading data on first launch. While the original version only offered one default location for the live tile, now you can turn on a "Show Live Tile" checkbox for each location that you've saved within the app. Each time you do that, a new Live Tile for that location will show up on your start screen. What's more, the new live tiles for specific locations as well as the default app are now two sided. One side will show the normal current weather information that you'd expect, and it will periodically flip over to show you a radar map of the location. That's a very cool feature! The new app also uses a background process to update Live Tiles every 30 minutes as opposed to the older push notifications method previously employed. Twitter for iPhone has been updated to version 3.5.0 and, aside from the usual bug fixes and minor enhancements, it brings a series of features to iOS device owners who love tweeting. 
Today Flixster saw an update that brings some very cool Windows Phone 7.5 Mango features to the app. If you're familiar with Flixster already, you'll know that it offers access to showtimes, movie trailers and Rotten Tomatoes reviews. With the recent upgrade to version 1.6, it now supports fast app switching in Mango and Bing search integration. That means if you're searching for a movie using Bing, you can swipe over to the "apps" tab and get a deep-link into Flixster for whatever movie you were looking at so you can read Rotten Tomatoes reviews or whatnot. It also now supports pinning specific movies or theaters to your start screen. After you pin a movie to the start screen you'll have quick access to that movie in Flixster, but you'll also have a live tile of the movie's poster art that flips around to show you the Rotten Tomato review score. If you pin a theater, it will also have a live tile, but it only flips around to show the name of the theater. Still, having quick access to a specific theater and its showtimes is a great option to have on your start screen. 
Swype is the preferred input method of many users as it comes preinstalled on certain Android-powered smartphones. If you have a Symbian device, you will be glad to find out that Swype has been updated to version 2.0 and is now available in the Beta Labs. 
Mango is nearing upon us (we're still yet to see whether rumors about today's announcement turn out to be true or not) and applications are being constantly updated to support the Redmond platform refresh. 
If you're frequently using Facebook on your Android phone then you'll be glad to find out the application has been once again updated. The new version not only fixes several bugs but also improves functionality. 
Google Offers was officially introduced together with Google Wallet at the end of May and, if initially only available in Portland, the Bay Area and New York City, it is now expanding to add five more cities to the list. The offering brings you deals based on your location that might be of your interest. 
The official Google+ client for iPhone has been launched on July 20 for those of you who are mixing the Apple platform and its phone with Google's social network. An update is now available for the application which you can download for free in the iTunes App Store. 
Facebook continues to keep the iPhone application up and running with frequent updates that often add new features or bring user interface changes. The latest version is 3.5 which is available as of now for free in the Apple iTunes App Store.
