Nokia has officially announced the 700 and 701 smartphones with the occasion of unveiling the Nokia 600 and the Belle update to its Symbian^3 platform. At that time, the availability date for all three phones was set to the third quarter of the year. The Finnish phone maker just announced that the Nokia 700 and 701 are now shipping. They are coming with Symbian Belle out of the box, which brings new widgets, more options for customization, new applications and built-in NFC functionality.
The Nokia 700 is "the most compact touch monoblock smartphone in the market right now" and it sports a 1GHz processor, GPS, compass, Bluetooth, FM radio, WiFi, five-megapixel full focus camera with LED flash, 2GB of user memory, 3.2-inch screen with ClearBlack AMOLED technology protected by gorilla glass, and NFC on-board.
The Nokia 701 has the brightest screen in the world, a 3.5-inch IPS LCD display with ClearBlack technology; it also packs a 1GHz processor, WiFi, NFC, Bluetooth, GPS, FM radio, eight-megapixel full focus camera with a dual-LED flash on the back, front facing webcam, 8GB of user memory, and microSD slot for up to 32GB extra memory.
