Boost Announces Samsung Transform Ultra QWERTY Slider For Oct. 7

You are in an Android Post

Up until the beginning of the month, we had known Samsung's Transform Ultra for Boost Mobile as the SPH-M930 QWERTY slider. That all changed thanks to a tipster, hooking us up with some pics of the phone and a few specs. What we didn't know at the time was when Boost would end up releasing the phone; now Boost has officially announced the Transform Ultra, revealing it will arrive on October 7.

The specs we heard for the Transform Ultra are largely confirmed by Boost; the phone will have a 1GHz processor, main three-megapixel camera, and a VGA front-facer. There's no mention of internal storage here, just the inclusion of a 2GB microSD card, but we were told the phone should have 1GB of flash for itself. The handset's price also check-out, going for about $230 when it arrives. That's going to end making it one pretty darn decent deal for no-contract hardware, and maybe the best option going on Boost.

There is one downside to the Transform Ultra's release, though. One day before it comes out, Boost is hiking its data plans for Androids by five bucks a month. Existing customers can grandfather-in, but you'll be a day too late to get the old price on this phone.
