Samsung Prime Allegedly Spotted, Looks Like A Larger Nexus S?

Samsung Prime rumors continue to pour in! Remember when the phone allegedly showed up at Verizon Wireless headquarters? Today's rumor is related to Verizon too as the phone was reportedly seen at the Verizon Developer's conference in Las Vegas.

A person claiming to be a Samsung employee held an unknown Android phone and, according to reports, it was the Samsung Prime. Those who saw the phone (because they were stripped of any devices capable of immortalizing the moment) claim that the Prime is indeed a larger Nexus S. Taller and thicker, it sports an eight-megapixel camera at the back and a two-megapixel webcam on the front. NFC is also present and so is MHL and HDMI.

The front of the device sports a home button while the power button and volume rockers reside on the sides. CPU-wise, it's packed with a dual-core Texas Instruments OMAP chip and it will reportedly support both GSM and CDMA network frequencies.

Interestingly, the phone spotted ran Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread, most probably because Ice Cream Sandwich wasn't ready for prime-time on the engineering unit. In terms of availability, rumor has it the Prime will land at the end of October or early November on Verizon. The rest of the carriers should follow close.
